The Spirit of Christmas Giving ． Sharing Love and Warmth
Christmas is one of the most joyful and eagerly anticipated times of the year for children of all ages. To help spread that warmth and holiday cheer to children in remote communities, we prepared 150 practical and thoughtfully selected Christmas gifts, along with festive cookies handmade by our baking club. These gifts allowed the children to receive not only useful items but also enjoy sweet treats that added to the holiday spirit. The donations were delivered to Penghu Jibei Baptist Church, the Harmony Home Foundation Taiwan in Kaohsiung, the Boyo Social Welfare Foundation’s Zhuoshui Center in Xinyi Township, Nantou, and the An-Con Mental Retardation Training Services Institution. Through these efforts, we were able to share love and holiday warmth with more children in under-resourced communities this Christmas season.

Lianhua Temple Wetland | Carnivorous Plant Habitat Conservation
Characterized by nutrient-poor soil and abundant groundwater, the Lianhua Temple Wetland is home to many rare wetland plants and provides ideal conditions for carnivorous species to thrive. However, the construction of a check dam reduced water flow, lowering the groundwater level and causing the land to dry out. As the soil became more aerated, organic matter decomposed more quickly, enriching the soil with nutrients and leading to a decline in rare plant populations. Today, the Lianhua Temple Wetland remains the only natural habitat in Taiwan for Drosera indica (Indian sundew). Without active conservation efforts, this species is at risk of disappearing from the region entirely.

Embrace the Ocean, Create a Cleaner Future
On November 16, Gemtek members came together at Zhubei Crescent Bay to participate in a beach cleanup. Despite the light rain and strong waves brought on by Typhoon Usagi, our passion and determination to protecting the ocean remained steadfast. Together, we successfully removed 29.4 kilograms of trash from the beach. Although the amount may seem small, we firmly believe that every effort contributes to meaningful change. It was truly rewarding to work side by side with our colleagues, and we deeply appreciate everyone’s active participation and relentless efforts. Looking ahead, we will continue joining hands to preserve these pristine waters and inspire more people to cherish the beauty of a plastic-free coastline.
